Well, she’s just shy of five months old now. What a difference five months can make. She started rolling over at three and a half months. Now just before four months she’s got teeth! She got one 10 days before five months and another 8 days before her five month.
At her four month old appointment her doctor said she was big enough that I didn’t need to feed her during the night and that if I could stand it to let her cry it out and sleep through the night. He also said to put her to sleep awake and let her figure out how to be alone and go to sleep without assistance.
I being sleep deprived took that advice to the letter. I put Sunny to bed in her pack-and-play in the basement so no one could her crying (except me who was listening on the baby monitor). Steve and Alyssa slept peacefully through her nite time sleep training. It only took three nights before she started doing it.
Now she is back upstairs sleeping in her room as are the rest of us (in our respective rooms). She is such a sweet baby now. Not that she wasn’t before , but she is so much funner now. She talks and coo’s and squeals and smiles every time you look at her. She also takes regular lengthy naps.
So in short. I am a fan. I really have to respect a baby who eats good, sleeps good and is pleasant to be around. I guess we are keeping her.

glad to hear your not considering selling her off to the gypsies... thats always a good sign!
mine does none of those wonderful things...and yet i still think i will keep him... although i'm really looking forward to the "sleeping thru the night" milestone as well as the "taking regular naps during the day" one.
Teeth??? Wow! Max just barely got his first 2 teeth and he is 9 months old. Good work letting her cry it out. With Abe we put him on the other side of the house to cry at night and he is now our best sleeper. The same cannot be said of Max. I'm glad Sunny is a keeper.
aaaahhhhh....sleep. it is a good thing.
How did you get Steve to wear that hat?
Your post gives me hope that one day I will join you in the land of "sleeping through the night"... It's a wonderful place... I miss it... but like Heather, I think I will still keep Kayson... and Riser too... He seems to have forgotten how to sleep through the night... Again, thank you. Your post gives me hope!!
So does this mean you're now considering #3?
NO
Cute! I made Sophia cry herself to sleep. and it only took three nights too. Looks like such a fun trip too. I'm jealous.
Well, I'm glad to hear that Tommy's girlfriend is able to soothe herself...very important...especially in their relationship...so difficult...they can't talk to each other, let alone go on a date without a chaperone....
What a cutie!
You know the (stupid) quote, "the only thing that stays the same is change" (or whatever). That's our baby. The only constant is that nothing stays the same... Starting to wonder myself whether the night is the day.
I'm a fan too. Especially when her mommy is around :) Just kidding! Love you
I love your posts CSO. Way to stick out the 3 nights of crying. I am not sure I could do it!(seriously- I like sleep)
