For those of you who don’t already know this…I take Pizza very seriously.
After living a little stint in Upstate New York, I learned about REAL pizza. Before I lived there I didn’t even know I hadn’t had real Pizza before. Not that there is anything wrong with Domino’s or Little Sleasers, but there isn’t much right with it either.
In my first area, I wanted to have pizza. My companion, Comp, told me she wouldn’t eat it unless it was New York Pizza. I wanted Domino’s because that is what I was used to. Little did I know…she would change my life forever. Thanks Jaime!
Ever since then I consider myself a pizza conteseur. Living here, good Pizza is hard to come by. I have tried many different places that claim to be New York Style, thin crust pizza, only to be disappointed time and time again.
I found one place we absolutely, positively love! Its called Nevole’s. Located at 11400 South and State, in the Best Buy parking lot. It’s kind-of close, and while it isn’t cheap, five dollar hot and ready, the price-value, for what you're getting,is just right.
Their thin crust is so thin it’s like pizza on a wheat thin cracker, it’s that thin. You might be thinking, “I wouldn’t like pizza that thin.” You’d be dead wrong though, because that is the way pizza was intended to be and you would like it, in fact you’d love it.
Not only is their pizza fantastic, but the ambience and service is great too.As you can see from the pictures, they have great big booths that can fit at least 3 adults on each side. Or in our case they can fit one adult and one sleeping child.
Each table has an entire roll of paper towels for dirty fingers and kiddies faces, very convenient.
They sell pizza by the slice, 1.33 per slice to be exact or by the pie. They are small slices, but at that price how big do you really expect them to be? We buy four slices, each. That is the perfect amount. Not too much, but enough you don’t need more to be satisfied.
From 11-2 each day they have a buffet where you can get any kind of slices you want. Now you should know, I only like pizza the way it was intended to be, with pepperoni and sauce and cheese, nothing else. However since all the pepperoni was gone from the buffet for a moment I decided to branch out and try chicken and jalapeño pizza. I had really low expectations, but holy cow! It was delicious-O! I had two of that flavor. Crazy good!
Alyssa thinks it is Chef Bisketti’s place. The chef from Curious George. She is always happy to go there to support her favorite PBS Kids shows.
Another great thing about Nevole’s is the restrooms.
See for yourself from the pics here. The restroom was rad! I mean look at that sink, how cool is that? It’s worth going there just to see the restroom.
Anyway…just wanted to let you know, Nevole’s is my four-star pizzeria in town. If you haven’t had good New York Pizza before, you should go there. If you have had it, you should still go there.

I've seen that place on my way home from Costco--good to know it is yummy. Have you ever tried Settebello's downtown (200 W 200 S)? It was created by return missionaries who served in Napoli (home of thin crust pizza) I bet you'd love it.
Oh--and will you email me your phone numbers for my "just in case" emergency birth plan? :)

ya but have you tried chuck e cheese's? i bet they give your fancy pizza place a run for their money!
great review, food critique... :) I have actually heard of this place and hear it is good. I think we'll have to try it out. Though I am not a thin crust fan, I will try on your recommendation.
I am definately going to have to check this place out. After eating Little Caesar's and Chuck E. Cheese pizza this weekend, I've been reminded that I miss real pizza!
I can't even comment, but I do have to second the Settebello's suggestion, at least if you're looking for pizza made the way it was intended.
dan and i are big fan's of settebello (already mentioned by someone else). it is to die for! but then again we are authentic italian pizza snobs! we will have to give nevole's a try.
I was going to suggest Settebello as well! The best part is, they've expanded and now there is a gelato (italian ice cream) shop there too! Fabulous pizza AND the best ice cream you'll ever taste... can't go wrong there!
THIS BLOG IS NOT ABOUT HOW GREAT ITALIAN PIZZA IS. Don't get me wrong, it's great, but that's not what this blog is about.
We've been to Settebello's several times. Very good. The Gelato was not there last time we went. Not sure why.
Anyway, the point is. TRY NEW YORK STYLE PIZZA! You'll love it.
Gotta take Jas there, Jas could eat pizza everyday. Oh yeah, lovin the WiiFit! So glad we got it, thanks to you guys!
point taken... I'll try the pizza! ;)
We are soooo in love with Nevole's, possibly obsessed. We often meet up for the all you can eat buffet at lunchtime and it is not a pretty sight when we are done. Oooh I am really making myself hungry now. Lets meet up here sometime for a little family outing??
